LOW VOC PAINTS.
Paint technology has come a long way in the last few years, and we are proud to use low VOC paints whenever we can. Your health plus the health of your children and pets is the reason we will opt for this type of paint when appropriate for the project.

FAQ

You are more than welcome to do so. At Slipstream Painting, we are happy to provide labor-only estimates as well as labor and material estimates. However, unless you have a painting/construction company of your own and are already purchasing in volume, it is in your best interest to have us purchase the paint for your project. The reason is that reputable paint manufacturers, such as Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams, provide deeply discounted pricing for paint contractors (Slipstream Painting). Don’t waste money and purchase at retail price!

At the project start date, you can expect to have Slipstream Painting show up on time. Once the Slipstream team is on site, you will be briefed on the project timeline and introduced to each individual painter on the team. From there, the painting team will begin prep work. Depending on the scope of work and the layout of the property, prep work will vary.

Common components of prep work include:

  • Masking/covering of floors.
  • Masking/covering of baseboards.
  • Removal of faceplates.
  • Caulking of baseboards and trim.
  • Sanding and/or degreasing of wooden surfaces.
  • Pressure Washing

Yes! Every contractor should carry insurance. Painting contractors commonly carry insurance in the form of general liability and/or workers’ compensation insurance. Please ask us for a copy of our insurance. We are happy to provide a certificate of insurance (COI).

Great Question. Slipstream Painting offers a 2-year painting service warranty. This includes defects in craftsmanship and any issues/defects that might arise from improper application. Please see service contract for specifications.

We love to work with Benjamin Moore (BM) and Sherwin Williams (SW). Across the board, both manufacturers offer extensive warranties for their product lines. BM and SW also carry some of the best products available within the industry in terms of coverage, durability and color retention. Our recommendation of any product from BM or SW largely depends on your project and what you are looking to get out of the applied product.

Factors that would affect the type of paint you use:

  • Budget
  • Surface interior/exterior and type of surface?
  • Climate (Humid/dry)
  • Desired sheen/finish
